Terms of Service
Effective: Demo — effective date TBD · Tailgate Line (demo) ("Tailgate Line," "we"), Mailing address pending
These terms cover use of our website and demos. Paying clients are also covered by our Client Service Agreement, which they accept at signup; if the two conflict, the Client Service Agreement controls.
1. The service
Tailgate Line provides missed-call text-back, an AI virtual receptionist for after-hours and overflow calls, appointment booking, review requests, and reporting for home-service businesses, built on third-party platforms (including HighLevel/LeadConnector, Retell AI, wireless carriers and Stripe).
2. Plans, billing and cancellation
- Text-Back: $97/month. Full Line: $297/month, including 400 receptionist minutes per month; additional minutes $0.20/minute. Full Line setup fee: $197, waived for clients who sign up by November 30, 2026.
- Standard carrier texting-registration (A2P 10DLC) fees are included in your plan. If a carrier adds a new mandatory fee, we may pass it through at cost after 30 days' notice.
- Billing is monthly in advance by card or bank account through Stripe. There is no long-term contract. You may cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid month, and we don't prorate partial months (except under the guarantee below).
3. Book-a-Job Guarantee
If, in your first 30 days after your line is live, our system doesn't capture at least one caller who books an appointment with you, we refund your first month's fee in full. "Live" means call forwarding is on and our system is responding to your missed calls. A captured booking means an appointment booked by our system, or a lead our system captured that you confirm became a booked appointment. Claim it by email within 15 days after the 30-day period ends; any setup fee you paid is refunded too. The guarantee applies once per business. If forwarding was off because of a change on your side, the 30 days pause until it's back on. It is a refund, not a promise of any number of jobs or amount of revenue.
4. Your responsibilities (clients)
- Give accurate business information, including what's needed for text-message registration, and keep call forwarding turned on.
- Have a lawful basis (such as the customer contacting you) for any phone numbers you upload or ask us to message. Don't use the service for marketing blasts or unsolicited messages without written consent.
- Send review requests to all customers equally; don't ask us to filter out unhappy customers, offer incentives for reviews, or post fake reviews.
- Keep your emergency/on-call number and business hours current, and review the call summaries we send you.
5. AI limitations
The receptionist is software and can mishear, misunderstand, or make mistakes. It is not an emergency service. It discloses that it is a virtual assistant and that calls may be recorded. It won't quote prices you haven't approved. You remain responsible for your services and your customer relationships.
6. Availability
The service depends on carriers and third-party platforms that we don't control. We'll work to restore any outage promptly and credit you pro rata for outages over 24 consecutive hours that are within our control or our providers'. We don't otherwise guarantee uninterrupted service.
7. Data
Your customer data is yours. We process it only to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy, and export it on request when you leave.
8. Website and demos
Website content, including the ROI calculator, is for general information; estimates are based on industry averages and your inputs and are not guarantees. Demo receptionists are for evaluation only. Don't misuse the site or demos (for example, automated abuse or attempts to access systems you're not authorized to use).
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Except as stated in these terms or your Client Service Agreement, the service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, and neither party is liable for indirect or consequential damages such as lost profits or lost jobs. Nothing limits liability that can't be limited by law.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. Contact hello@tailgateline.com with questions.
